Walcha District Hospital (New England Area Health Service) is situated in Middle Street and has approximately 30 beds.

The town has the privilege of having an optometrist visiting once each fortnight from Port Macquarie as well as a visiting Chiropractor visiting from Tamworth twice a week. A visiting Dentist from Tamworth comes every Monday as well as the Dentist at the Community Health Centre. There are also other visiting Medical Staff at the Walcha Community Health Centre each week.

New England Area Health Service also run a Community Centre which encompasses the following:
? a Playgroup for pre-school toddlers
? Senior Citizens Centre
? Clinics for Women's Health
? Dental Service
? Mental Health Counselling
? Podiatry
? Aboriginal Health
? Early Childhood Clinic (Baby Health)
? Early Intervention
? Community Nursing
? Physiotherapy
? Immunisation
? Palliative Care
? plus many more visiting specialists.

Riverview Aged Persons Hostel run by the Presbyterian Church - has a capacity of approximately 21 as well as offering respite care.

The Walcha area is serviced by 2 full-time General Practitioners.
