Pesticide Use Notification PlanLast modified: November 3, 2008 - 4:16 PM
This 'Pesticide Use Notificaiton Plan' has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Pesticides Regulation 1995 (the Regulation). The Plan sets out how the New England Strategic Allicance of Councils (comprising the Councils of Armidale Dumaresq, Guyra, Walcha, Uralla and the New England Weeds Authority) will notify members of the community of pesticide applications it makes or allows to be made to public places that it owns or controls.
The aim of this plan is to meet the community's general right to know about pesticide applications made to outdoor public places that are owned or controlled by the NESAC. The plan allows members of the community to take action to avoid contact with pesticides, if they wish. Councils ensure that pesticides are applied to public places in a safe, responsible manner, minimising harm to the community or the environment.
This plan sets out how the NESAC will notify members of the community of pesticide applications made by member Councils to public places.
The plan describes:
The weed species controlled in this plan are part of the New England Weeds Authority’s program to prevent the spread of Noxious Weeds and undesirable vegetation within the Walcha Shire area and maintain the roads and urban areas within a managed framework.
