It has been identified as a need for emergency services to be able to locate rural properties easily through uniform signage that can be read by emergency vehicles.
Double sided reflective signs make them easily readable in either direction day or night. The inclusion of the road name helps people and visitors to know with confidence where they are.

Believe it or not the majority of rural property numbers and names are not visible from the road and it’s even worse at night! Walcha Council would like to encourage all rural households to display a rural address sign. To do so, Council is offering all rural residents of Walcha the opportunity to order their sign at a cost of $325. Council will take care of the rest ensuring the signs are made and erected in accordance with the Australian Standards and meeting the cost of erecting the sign.
