Garbage Collection and Recycling Services

Wheelie bins and recycling are collected once a week and should be placed out on Wednesday nights for collection on Thursday mornings. Bins should not be removed from the premises to which they were delivered.

Recycling Services including a Recycling Centre at the town landfill site, are provided by Walcha Council.  Council have prepared and issued to householders a "What Goes Where" (PDF) (544.75 KB) brochure.  Also the pictures might help with what can be recyled in the dedicated wheelie bins:

The Waste Collections Calendar for 2017-2018 is available here.

Residents are requested to compost all suitable household waste, including plant material and lawn clippings.  If not then please note the the things you can put in your Green Lid Organics ONLY Bin.

Visit the Walcha Community Recycling Centre (CRC) today and help build a healthy environment for your future!

Not all household waste can be put in your kerbside bins.  The Community Recycling Centre located at the Walcha Waste Depot, Aerodrome Road is FREE and an EASY solution for the disposal of household problem waste such as paints, gas bottles, motor oils, batteries, smoke detectors and fluorescent globes and tubes.  These materials can be reused and recycled if processed correctly.

If you have enquiries or problems regarding your service, please phone Council on 67742515.
