Softwood Plantation Development StrategyLast modified: December 23, 2008 - 4:19 PM
As part of our commitment to enhancing job opportunities and sustainable industry development in the Shire, Walcha Council has taken the initiative to put into place a progressive Softwood Plantation Development Strategy. The aim of the Strategy is to advance opportunities that will attract investment into developing new softwood plantations in the Walcha region, that in turn will deliver jobs and further investment in value-adding wood processing industries. Walcha Council recognises that job creation and industry development oppotunities exist through further softwood plantation development in the shire, and is committed to ensuring that existing and prospective investors are able to contribute to, and benefit from those opportunities. Council's Softwood Plantation Development Strategy is built on the outcomes of an in-depth study (the Study - see inside back cover of Plantation Investment Potential Brochure for details) recently carried out to examine the issues important in developing 40,000 hectares of new softwood plantation in the Shire. This brochure was developed and launched to assist potential investors and interested parties with information in regards to the Softwood Plantation Development Strategy commissioned by the Walcha Council. The Brochure has been split into two parts to assist with the downloading from the website. Contact details
